What is Activate/Start DND service, many of still do not know the answer for this, i will tell you neatly, DND is fully called Do Not Disturb, the name itself teaches that it is used for stopping the Service Providers Advertising on you. Everyone will have this problem of getting various Customer care calls which irritates normal people, because they do not have any particular time to call, TRAI had given an Solution for those who do not need any disturbances

Let us go to the Subject Clearly, there are more services on the mobile like airtel, bsnl, uninor and the big list, but the solution is common for them. The Procedure for all service providers is same, by doing this you are registered to the National Consumer Preference Register (NPCR),the Promotional and telemarketing calls would be stopped within 7 days after activating the DND service

HOW TO ACTIVATE DND BY AN PHONE CALL

1) Just Dial 1909, a toll free number for this service, Listen to the Options and choose the right option that is  to Register for DND service, the Activation will takes 7 days

HOW TO ACTIVATE DND BY AN SMS

1) The procedure is simple just send an SMS to 1909
2) To Stop all Promotional calls and sms, Just type "START 0" and send to 1909 (Use Bold letters )
3) It stop services for all categories, if  you want to stop the specified category like bank type calls use number "1", real estate use number "2" , for Education use number"3",  the list goes on,i think it is better to stop from all categories

HOW TO DEACTIVATE DND IN MY PHONE

If you suddenly change your mind about it, if you want to receive the promotional calls, Simply follow either one of the ways i stated below.

  • Just Dial 1909, and listen to the options, select the Option to fully De-register from the DND Service, it takes a week to Deactivate
  • We can Deactivate this service by SMS, just type "STOP 0 " to 1909, to De-Register from DND and receive Promotional and Telemarketing offers
