android reverse tools - ART

here's a cool tool i was shown the other day. it's an easy-mode gui for all your decompiling and recompiling needs. ordinarily this would be rather unimpressive. it's not too hard to write a little wrapper for some java commands, but he/she really put some polish on this.

not only does it come with everything you need, including java and bits of the android sdk, but it even has a slick manual and a complete walk-through for my lesson0.crackme0.

here's a screen shot of the app:

here's the link to download (24mb): http://ul.to/or3kme6t
virus scan: https://www.virustotal.com/file/f6ac4279161b666811d80736a7a23790709c5b3ccb36a8f83dd138d9601eb480/analysis/1334082130/

as a first exercise, i recommend that you update the apktool included with the pack. it may have gone out of date. you can update the other components if you're so inclined but it might not help much.

if you have any trouble decompiling or compiling, remember it's using apktool under the hood so trouble shoot apktool first.

Game

Scramble With Friends: Another great game from the developers of "Words with friends".  Same as the other one is fast, fun and it can be played even with friends that have IPhones. The objective of the game is to find words on a board full of scrambled letters, by choosing adjacent letters before the time expires. Very simple and fun. Here's the link. From the phone search for "scramble with friends" and install. Have fun!

Travel app

Hotels.com: This is one of the best hotel booking app available for an Android smartphone. It provides you with access to over 140,000 hotels in over 200 countries. Many cool features: "tonight's local deals" has special daily deals available only to Hotels.com mobile users. You can search for hotels close to where you are or search on an interactive map. Plus, the app will remember your past, present and future reservations with access to them even offline. The app is available in  34 languages in more than 70 countries. Here's the link. Photo sharing app

Instagram: This is a cross between Facebook and Twitter type of apps that allows you to find friends and share all kind of pictures with them. Just like with Twitter you can follow people and like Facebook you can post pictures online for your friends. Then you can "like" some one's photos and others can "like" yours. The app provides several filters that help you touch up your photos before you post them. You can also share your pictures to Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Foursquare. Here's the link. From the phone search for "instagram" and install. This is a very popular app. Go ahead. Try it and see what the big fuss is all about.

Social app

Moco: This is an app for our younger users. Within the app you can play games, make friends, meet new people. A cool place to socialize with people and have fun in the same time. The games are not top of the line but they're fun and easy to enjoy with your new friends. Here's the link. From the phone search for "moco" and install.

Personal finance app

Mint.com: This is an app that allows you to track, manage and budget your money. With Mint you can keep track of your accounts in one place, so you can track your spending, create a budget and save more money (nothing wrong with that). You can also set up the app to send you email or text alerts that notify you of upcoming bills, fees, low balances, unusual activity and more. The app is passcode protected and if you lose your phone you can log in to Mint.com and terminate access to the account from the device. Here's the link. From the phone search for "mint.com" and install. Happy saving!
